rough week

Its been a rough week. I'm writing this on three hours of sleep.......I'm at work and have yet to do anything productive. Well, really, what is new on that front? I've taken 3 phone calls and I'm sure the people on the other end of the line thought I was on drugs. I sound and look like a disaster!

Anyhoo. Here is what's been going on with us. BRAELYN. Sick Braelyn. Teething Braelyn. Constipated Braelyn. Bad combination.

She woke up last Thursday with a temperature of 102. This is not typical of her, so I took her in to the Doctor to make sure everything was all right. Couldn't get in to see the Doc, so I had to see the Nurse Practitioner. The NP said Braelyn had the beginning of an ear infection and did I want to treat it naturally or with antibiotics? Naturally. So I took her home, dosed her up with some garlic-muellin ear drops, collodial silver, and probiotics. That night her temperature went up to 104.5. She was miserable. We were miserable. It was the saddest thing. She hurt so bad she couldn't even cry. However, she wasn't pulling on her ears. In fact, her ears didn't seem to be bothering her at all. So, back to the Doctor we went. I demanded we see Dr. Bain this time, simply b/c the NP didn't really give her a full look over (didn't check glands, diaper area, etc....of course I thought about this after the fact) and Dr. Bain has been seeing Braelyn since she was 2 months old and is familiar with her history. Well, there was no ear infection. So, whatever fluid the NP saw was no longer there 24 hours later. The diagnosis? Some kind of virus. We thought maybe roseola, but she's yet to break out into a rash. After 5 days of high fever, she's finally at a normal temperature, but still not a happy girl. Her appetite is poor, she's got molars coming in that I can't even see yet, and she's constipated. Won't eat prunes, won't drink prune juice, won't eat prune popsicles. Won't drink apple juice or pear juice. Resorted to an enema. That was a fun experience for us all.
Last night she screamed from 3:00 to 5:00. She finally fell asleep with me on the couch. I am exhausted out of my mind.
So, that's what has been going on with us lately.

So sorry about Braelyn. Poor baby. Those little glycerin suppositories work well too. I don't know if they are natural? But she will poop I can guarantee you that :)

Find a good chiropractor in your area. I can refer you to one. A good adjustment will make her poop like crazy. It's also great for ear infections, if you think she's ever coming down with one. Let me know if you have any Q's on the chiro thing.

agree with the previous post about the chiro. Also, big hugs to you! Hopefully you can get some rest soon. I hope Braelyn feels better soon!
