Wordless Wednesday

We haven't been up to a whole lot lately. Not that I've documented anyway for potential blogging. We did go to the Rough Riders game on Monday night. We had a great time. Braelyn loved it and danced her butt off. (They play music the whole time) A little girl gave her some blue cotton candy and I graciously accepted even though I was cringing inside. I didn't want to be rude, and it was only a bite. However, even the little bit I allowed her to eat was evident in her diaper yesterday. So, kids who are allowed to eat artificial colors all the time....is their poop always fluorescent? Anyhoo, we (I) made it through the cotton candy and had a great time at the game. I forgot my camera, or it would have been a blog post on its own.

Aquarium

We took Braelyn to the Dallas Aquarium today and it was a lot of fun. She was overwhelmed with all the different birds and fish she got to see. My favorite was the penguins. I had no idea how cute they were up close. How do you go about buying a penguin? I'd like one or two to just walk around my house. I could put cute little bow-tie collars on them. Adorable.

The aquarium is very exotic and so pretty inside. However, its also really narrow which makes it hard to manuever a stroller. There were a lot of people there, too. I don't know if that is a normal turn out, or maybe more people were there due to the holiday.

So, there were different areas of animals. Like all the pink flamingos were in an area, sharks and other fish, etc. Then, there was this one area that Jay and I thought was a little odd, kind of funny. There were 2 weird looking birds, 2 baby owls, and 3 rabbits. Its like they had an empty space and just grabbed a few fill-in animals. The rabbits were totally out of place. I mean, they weren't exotic rabbits or anything. They look just like the one I can see out my window right now. So, I guess someone in charge thought "yeah, lets just throw some rabbits in the mix". I don't know, but we thought it was pretty funny.

There was an alligator that looked really depressed. It made me sad. His area was much too small and he just looked miserable. Not like I'm going to be the person to free him, but he really should be released or at least given a more habitable environment than where he was. I like going to the zoo and enjoyed the aquarium, but when you really think about it, it is kind of cruel. I mean, its great we get to see these animals, but I bet most of them aren't happy. Oh, well, I won't get off on a tangent. It was a fun thing to do for our day off together.

Of course Brae is the cuter one. :)

Things Braelyn and Suri have in common:

1. They both have beautiful brown hair and won't wear hairbows. (all right, I'm assuming that's Suri's problem, too.)

2. They both still love their bottles. Although, Braelyn's doesn't have any weird scientology formulated barley mixture. Surprised, aren't you? Her nighttime bottle has almond milk.

3. They do look a little bit alike

Do I really need to go there?
For starters, we just weren't able to make it to any of the American Idol shows this year. Our schedule was just too full already.

Eight things I look forward to:
1. morning coffee
2. snuggling Braelyn at bedtime
3. spending time with my girls who live out of town on the few occasions I get to.

6. lately, working out until I'm drenched in sweat; feels GOOD
7. my husband and I taking a vacation for the first time in 5 years....I don't have any idea when this will be but I really look forward to it!
8. braelyn beginning to talk in sentences and really communicate. that will be fun.

Eight things I did yesterday:
1. worked, like heidi did (there's my mention of the person who tagged me) but for more than 3 hours. You're lucky!
2. set up a tent in Braelyn's room and read books inside
3. fixed B a healthy dinner of which most landed on the floor
4. worked out for 10 minutes before I got interrupted when our cat brought a traumatized baby bunny into the house intent on eating it in front of us, I guess. luckily jay rescued it.
5. took a hot bubble bath with the jets on while Jay picked B up from the sitter
6. went to Pappasitos with Tina
7. boxed up clothes B has outgrown
8. went to bed at 9:30

Eight things I wish I could do:
1. wake up earlier, or at least on time
2. pay off debt more quickly so we could take that vacation!
3. stay home two or three days a week, even though I'm very content with my tuesdays.
4. even one chin-up
5. stay organized
6. shop at Anthropologie all the time
7. find time to get involved in a bible study
8. make it to class on sundays

I know its 4 months away.....

....but I can't wait to start planning Braelyn's 2nd birthday party. I am almost 100% decided on doing a zoo theme. Of course, we'll have to take her to the zoo before her birthday so she understands the theme of her own party.

Let the googling and Etsy searches begin. Man, I love Etsy.

Cousin Jacob will be there, of course, but as far as other children.....that kind of stresses me out and maybe I would rather avoid that for as long as possible! Fun Fun! I can't believe my little baby is going to be two! When did that happen? Jay and I very often say we want to freeze her at this age (minus the tantrums and occasional sleepless nights) because she's so darn sweet and perfect. And we're not biased at all.
