I wanted to post a picture of what I got for Mothers Day, too. I should have posted it back in May, but forgot to take a picture of it then. Jay had this shadowbox made for me. You can see there are a couple of pictures of Braelyn and me, her birth announcement, a lock of her hair from her first haircut, her tiny hospital bracelet & hospital cap. This is such a special, sentimental gift that I will always cherish.
So, Jay has been scoring some major brownie points lately!I also need to mention a prayer request to my readers. I have a dear friend, Adrienne, who has a very sick little boy and needs our prayers. His name is Tyler. They are running tests right now to see what kind of genetic autoimmune disease he has. A couple of weeks ago they had to run a central line into his heart to inject antibiotics, antifungal medication, and a myriad of other drugs. He is 18 months old. He has lost 3 lbs in a few short months. His white blood cell count is very low and she's got to keep him inside the house at all times. He can go outside with a mask on, but what 18 month old baby is going to understand that and keep it on? I took her dinner last night and she had just gotten back from the pharmacy to pick up enzyme medication for his failing pancreas. I can't imagine having to go through this. She's also doing it on her own as her husband had an affair in December and left. She has really been attacked by satan this year. Please pray for the test results to come back with something that is manageable to treat. They are looking at something as simple as gamma globulin shots once a month to other things not as simple - such as a bone marrow transplant or treating a rare disease called Shwachman Diamond Syndrome. Adrienne is just taking one day at a time. She says Tyler has been so strong. When she asked the Dr. why he's so happy when he's so sick, the Dr. told her that he has just acclimated to his illness. In other words, he doesn't know any different. If you were born with the flu that never went away, you would learn to live with those symptoms as a part of everyday life. She says Tyler is what keeps her going - his strength, his smile, his love.
Please pray for her and her sweet boy.
